Create Clear Access to Your Home

You want to make sure that if a fire occurs that emergency vehicles can get to your home. This is a good practice for more than just fire. Its good to make sure that any emergency vehicle, particularly ambulances can reach your home.

Clear brush, and tree limbs from the sides of the road so that the it is clear of vegetation for a distance of 12 feet wide and 14 feet high. Don't forget to have a highly visible address sign at the end of your driveway. Remember, you want your address to be visible in the middle of the night in the worst weather. High contrast numbers characters are best. See example below.
